Recommended Running Kit – Aberfoyle, 11th October
Please note that this is the kit list is recommended regardless of the weather – even if there is bright blue sky and not a cloud to be seen. With the length of this event and the testing nature of the area, all of this kit will come in useful and therefore needs to be carried.

Moisture-wicking base layer (short or long sleeve depending on temperature)

Running shorts/tights (consider lightweight waterproof/windproof option)

Lightweight waterproof jacket (with taped seams, race-compliant)

Insulating mid-layer (thin fleece or merino)

Buff/neck gaiter & hat (for warmth)

Running gloves (windproof/water-resistant)

Spare socks (in case of wet feet)

Trail running shoes (good grip for mixed terrain, likely wet/muddy)

Fully charged mobile phone (in waterproof pouch)

Whistle (often built into race packs)

Foil/emergency bivvy bag (lightweight survival item)

Hydration & Nutrition

Hydration pack/vest (capacity 1–2L bladder or soft flasks)

Electrolyte tablets/powder

Energy gels/bars/real food (enough between checkpoints; always carry extra and enough for full race duration)

Small first aid kit (blister plasters, tape, pain relief)
