Blair Castle Trail Weekender

We're excited to bring to you the inaugural Blair Castle Trail Weekender on the 5th & 6th of June 2021.

Staged within the grounds of the iconic Blair Atholl Castle and Estate, this Scottish Athletics fully licenced weekend of trail running has races from 5km right up to the 58km 'Full Tilt Ultra'.

All respective races start at the event village before runners make their way past the castle and into the stunning Diana's Grove which feature the tallest Japanese larch and Red fir in Britain.

From here on out, depending on your choice of race, runners either loop round past Hercules Gardens and back to the start, fork off up the winding Glen Tilt or head toward the 1009m high summit of Ben Dearg. Which trail will you take?

We believe there's so much more to a race than just the run its self. With this in mind, we have a range of activities which come inclusive with your race entry. This extends to friends and family too!

Expect to see Yoga classes over the course of the weekend, access to a mix of catering experiences, a bar area and live music on the Saturday night. All of this set in the stunning grounds of Blair Atholl Castle.

Find out more about the area here.

Volunteers, We need your Help.

We're just a small team at Outsider Events and are always looking for volunteers. If you are just spectating and want to get involved, please get in touch with us!

As an incentive, for the Blair Castle Trail Weekender we are offering Volunteers the option of doing a days marshalling one day and on the other you can choose a race of your choice for free + one of our official event T-shirts.

We have a range of roles for our Volunteers, this can be anything from marshalling at a turn-off, helping out at one of our feed stations or even helping hand out numbers at signing-on. Does this sound like something you'd like get on-board with?

Covid Policy and your peace of mind

We are a long way from June and are hoping come this time, life shall have regained some normality and we'll be able to run Blair Castle Trail Weekender as it says on the tin. However, we do have a tiered event structure if it does come to it. The structure is as follows:

Plan A - Mass start

Plan B - Runners set off in waves of 50

Plan C - Runners set off in an individual TT format

In the worst case scenario and we are not in a position to run the event come June, runners will automatically be transferred to the new date. If this doesn't work we will offer a full refund - 4% entry central processing fee.
